I'm presuming that to keep prices down they have had to change a few things. Thanks for enlightening me:) I haven't had a dim sim in many years and I feel the neeeeeed. But the smell that the-gobbler mentions is also part of the memory and not one that is encouraging me to hurry, come to think of it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7700505313257578551.post-31793789183642891092007-10-08T19:12:00.000+10:002007-10-08T19:12:00.000+10:00Very informative post Sticky.I used to love dimmy'...Very informative post Sticky.
I used to love dimmy's & eat them from everywhere but sadley never tasted them from the South Mel Market.
Remember the little hole in the wall cafes at the pre-furbished Flinders st station? They used to have baine maries brimming with fried ones. As a kid I thought I was so sophisticated by having them with soy! The thing that you mentioned though is their particular fetid stench!
I recall many times walking through a noxious cloud of dimmy's or worse, someones dimmy breath, but it never put me off eating them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7700505313257578551.post-61107121028794781582007-10-08T18:31:00.000+10:002007-10-08T18:31:00.000+10:00Now I need a SMMDS - now!!!! His were more spicy, peppery than what they are now, so was a bit disappointed when a couple of months ago I tried them again for the first time in ages.

The Railway Hotel in Ferrars Street used to serve them. All big South Melbourne fans - as were my family - he used to sell them near the footy ground too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7700505313257578551.post-66084006991965842112007-10-08T18:27:00.000+10:002007-10-08T18:27:00.000+10:00Totally mouthwatering.
